  1. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
    The minutes of the last meeting were agreed. The description of the proposed development at the Natwest site was inaccurate. The flats are to be build adjoining the Budgens car park.

  2. VISITING MEMBERS' QUERIES

    The two storey 6th form college building is being erected at St Philip's School is giving concerns regarding security and privacy. No objection was made at the planning stage, due to a mistaken belief that the building was to be smaller than is the case. Sue Randall has forwarded an email to the education department setting out concerns. More trees have been felled than was expected.

  3. MATTERS ARISING
    1. The Police have indicated that they are in negotiations to establish a base at the King's Centre.
    2. KATA have written letters on the subject of the 467 bus and on other matters.
    3. The health overview panel has indicated that the PCT is to consult is to consult on the future of Surbiton Hospital.
    4. The AGM is to be held on Monday 22 May at the Methodist Church Hall. We will invite Phil Moore to be speaker.
    5. There is no news on Rushett Farm.
    6. The possible establishment of a pharmacy at the Hook Surgery is to be raised at the next meeting of the patients participation group.
    7. The question of illegal right turns into Clayton Road will be raised on the 14 March at the Road Safety Committee.
    8. The proposals relating to Somerset Avenue and adjoining roads may be called in to the Local Authority overview panel on 29 March 2006.
    9. Objections have been made concerning the road hump in North Parade. There is a possibility of increasing parking facilities by reducing the width of the footpath at that point.
    10. We will prepare a petition for Mr Patel's shop, urging LRT to permit the sale of and renewal of Oyster Cards at that location.
    11. The travellers' site at Woodstock Lane appears to have been extended.
    12. The issue of vehicles serving businesses causing damage to Chalky Lane is in hand.
    13. We have written to object to the planning application in respect of 76-78 Leatherhead Road. No decision has been made.
    14. The planning application at 27 Orchard Road has gone to appeal.

  4. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
    1. Planning applications decided:-
      • A new application to develop the site of Chessington Parish Hall has been granted. Enquiries are being made regarding the overgrown land at the rear of the hall.
    2. New Planning Applications
      • 24 North Parade - Change of use from shop to restaurant/takeaway.
    3. A meeting was held to discuss proposals for the new Hook Centre. We will press for priority to be given to local residents in the use of facilities.
    4. Jubilee Way Motor Cycle Club will be funded by the Police.
    5. A new ground maintenance organisation will now take the fees for the use of sports grounds. It will try to bring into use grounds that are presently disused.
    6. Work on the A243 is likely to be extended until April. One resident has no vehicular access to his property.
    7. Work will shortly start on the A243 to install a new advisory cycle lane.
    8. Plans at Chessington Garden Centre are on hold as new submissions are prepared. These will be shown to the Residents Association.
    9. Surrey Waste has written to invite comments on additional sites for waste management. All proposed sites appear to be too remote to be of significance to Chessington residents.
    10. The Ringmaster system, by which local residents receive messages from the Police on a systematic basis by telephone or email is to be replaced with one operating by email only.
