  1. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
    The minutes of the last meeting were agreed.

  2. VISITING MEMBERS' QUERIES
    None.

  3. MATTERS ARISING
    1. There is still no news concerning the West Park site.
    2. The planning application for stables in Chessington Wood appears straightforward. We will continue to monitor the situation..
    3. It is believed that applications to site a telecommunication mast and telecommunications aeriels at Barwell and at Accessory House respectively have been turned down.
    4. Our representations regarding the planning application at Pegasus, Green Lane is in hand.
    5. A leaflet distributed describing the planning application at the rear of 80-92 Leatherhead Road contains erroneous information. There are difficulties with the access road.
    6. Changes in the law will allow local authorities to require activities on a site to cease prior to the grant of planning permission.
    7. Chessington Nurseries has filed planning applications relating to the redevelopment of the site. We will ask Council officers to ensure that there is no conflict between developments at the Nurseries and CWA.
    8. The application to build a house on the land on the Computer Centre site designated for a shop was refused.
    9. The planning application to build several houses at 27 Orchard Road was refused.
    10. Consultation regarding the skateboard park is continuing. Bus stops in the area may be moved to facilitate travel to the site.

  4. COMMUNITY HEALTH COUNCIL
    June attended a meeting discussing measures to prevent elderly people having to move from their homes. This requires care, the provision of which can be expensive. An inquiry is to be held.

  5. NORTH PARADE

  6. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
    1. New planning applications:-
      • 527 Chessington Road, Epsom - proposal to demolish existing building and erect new building with several flats.
      • 76 Rythe Close - Proposal to relocate existing side fence to incorporate landscaped area. We will investigate.
    2. The application to build 16 flats at 201-203 Hook Road was rejected.
    3. The surgery on Hook Road is running "You and your heart" on the 25 March at the Kings Centre.
    4. At the AGM on 1 June, we will ask Ed Davey to speak on the Council Tax, Public Transport and the Care of the Elderly.
    5. The Metropolitan Police has issued a booklet entitled "Stay Safe", in association with the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. Some advice from the booklet will be added to the website.
    6. A meeting will be held regarding the future of Hook Utd FC which is in financial trouble. Jim will attend.
    7. Chessington Community College, which has achieved "sports status" is looking for playing fields.
    8. A study by the University of Lancaster suggests that in planting trees as a means of pollution abatement, the choice of tree species is important.
    9. At the CPCG it was noted that three lives have been saved in Kingston due to prompt response to reports from CCTV operators. Forensic teams are visiting the locations of all reported break-ins, with good results.
    10. Chessington is to have a local team of officers liaising with the public and attending to local matters.
    11. A visit was made to CWA in conjunction with Malden Rushett Residents' Association. The site is not going to be sold. The development plans are going ahead, but the flying island would not be built until 2008. The site will open on 26 March and is targeting 2-8 year old children. It will close on Tuesdays-Thursdays at certain times of the year.
    12. Mike Hoare has set up the Ace of Spades Residents' Association. Jim will obtain contact details.
    13. Developers are investigating the possibility of building on the site of the old telephone exchange, gaining access through garages.
    14. Councillor Sue Baker is a member of an implementation team for a local Police Office.
