B.    Discussion of the AGM

The AGM was thought to have been  very successful. The venue is comfortable with a very good sound system.  The Speaker was thought to be excellent. We will write to the Speaker to confirm our continuing interest in developments at Surbiton Hospital and the continuance of the Orchard Practice.  We will also mention our concern at the inadequate provision of local NHS dentistry.

Cash taken at the door £179.00 plus money received by Jim Taylor £66.00.

C.   Discussion of Chessington Youth Action (CYA)

Sergeant James Ellis, who is the Treasurer of Chessington Youth Action had made a short speech at the AGM.  Councillor Bamford described the organisation and its comprehensive range of activities.  She suggested that the C&DRA, which has an adequate bank balance could make a donation to CYA. This idea was well received and a sum of £200 was agreed. It was suggested that the C&DRA should make a  subsequent press release which may well  attract new members to our association

A donation from the  C&DRA could be seen as ‘seed corn’ to encourage further donations. Councillor Bamford commented that the overall cost of running CYA meant it would continue to need RBK support.
