  1. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
    The minutes of the last meeting were agreed.

  2. ELECTION OF OFFICERS

    The following were elected
    Chairman - Jim Taylor
    Vice Chairmen - Peter Alexander/Richard Heath
    Secretary/Minutes Secretary - Chris Torrero
    Membership Secretary - Sue Torrero

  3. VISITING MEMBERS' QUERIES
    There were no visiting members queries.

  4. AGM WASHUP
    Brian Gay was coopted onto the committee
    We paid to have 500 flyers distributed in local newspapers, but got a very poor response.
    The PA system used at the meeting was a considerable improvement on that used the previous year. We will send our thanks and a donation of £50 to Chessington Methodist Church, whose equipment was used.

  5. MATTERS ARISING
    1. Chris has made a submission to the consultation on policing priorities in line with what was agreed at the previous meeting.
    2. The planning application at May Close was refused.
    3. The planning application at 268 Hook Road was refused.
    4. We will check to ensure that the building at Clayton Road Nursery, the retention of which was recently agreed by a planning decision, is being used in accordance with the planning permission granted.
    5. At a meeting with the Residents Associations of Winney Park and Malden Rushett, it was agreed that we would support a request for an environmental impact assessment in association with the planning applications at Chessington World of Adventures.

  6. COMMUNITY HEALTH COUNCIL
    No report. June is still trying to obtain information on the replacement for the CHC.

  7. NORTH PARADE
    A charity shop has now opened. A restaurant has opened in the former butcher's shop.

  8. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
    1. New planning applications:-
      • Unit 40 Barwell Business Park - Change of use to conferences and meetings. We will investigate
      • 2-4 North Parade - application for roof extension with roof terrace and associated development. We will investigate and object if considered appropriate.
      • Station Garage, The Parade, Claygate - application for development to create 19 flats.
    2. An appeal against refusal is being made in respect of the application for a 15ft telecommunications mast at the junction of North Parade and Bridge Road. We will make a statement in repect of the appeal.
    3. Chessington Equestrian Centre - Application for miscellaneous developments in connection with the redevelopment of the site was permitted.
    4. 12 Sanger Avenue - Conversion of part of building for creche was refused.
    5. Byhurst Farm an application for the continued use of agricultural buildings was permitted.
    6. We will raise the possibility for improvements in the evening rail service with KATA.
    7. The meeting relating to the planning application for the gypsy site in Green Lane will resume on 15-16 July.
    8. The Neighbourhood Committee will meet on 9 June.
    9. The Police have sent out 400 letters to parents relating to the behaviour of their children. Three antisocial behaviour orders have been made. No crime has been reported on the approach to Chessington World of Adventures.
    10. A drugs raid was carried out in Garrison Lane.
    11. Measures have been taken to deal with drunken youths at Chessington North and Chessington South Stations.
    12. We will suggest that the land set aside for a shop on the Winney Park Estate could be used for youth activities such as a snooker hall.
    13. There have been reports of the potential closure of the Accident & Emergency unit at Epsom Hospital.
