- MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
The minutes of the last meeting were agreed.
Sue Torrero attended the last meeting.
- MATTERS ARISING
- We have written to the Local Government Ombudsman who has been in contact with the Local Authority concerning the planning difficulties reported by a local resident last month.
- We will write to the Chessington Methodist Church and to Neville Raynford, expressing our thanks.
- A letter has been written setting out our objections to the proposed development on the site of West Park Hospital.
- Applications for extended opening hours have been made by the White Hart and North Star. The Ace of Spades Residents Association has made an objection to a similar application from the Cap in Hand.
- ANY OTHER BUSINESS
- Planning applications decided
- 119 Gilders Road - application for change of use refused.
- 1 Grange Road - Erection of 2 bedroom 2-storey house refused.
- St Philip's School - Application for 2-storey extension withdrawn.
- New planning applications:-
- Almshouse Lane - Use of former Army Cadet Hut for wholesale sale and storage.
- 33 Thrigby Road - 2 Storey House.
- 146 Moor Lane - Demolition of bungalow, erect 2-storey block.
- 235-237 Hook Road - 8 2-storey 3-bedroom semi-detached houses with underground parking.
- "Colditz site" - Erection of 2 2-storey 3-bedroom detached houses accessed from the service road at the rear of Chantry Lane. We will object.
- 1-2 Rushett Farm Cottages - demolition and replacement with 3 terraced two storey buildings.
- The appeal against refusal of the planning application for a travellers site on Green Lane was rejected.
- Chessington Garden Centre has withdrawn its planning application and will resubmit.
- Alton Towers, CWA and other similar sites have been sold. Alex is at an Alton Towers meeting in Stoke.
- Sue gave a report on meetings with the Kingston Primary Care Trust and with Kingston Hospital. She raised the concerns of local residents.
- Neville Raynford is trying too set up a meeting with the Strategic Health Authority. Ed Davey is also interested in attending.
- The K20+ report is considering the future of the Kingston area. There must be an appropriate balance between shops, offices and houses and with the university, giving precedence to the permanent population of the area.
- Jim attended a meeting concerning the Local Improvement Plan. He raised the issue to traffic.
- A public meeting will be held on Monday 25 July at Southborough School regarding the Hook Centre.
- Francis and Jim attended a Stop & Search demonstration. Road Safety does not cover roads controlled by TfL.
