- MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
The minutes of the last meeting were agreed.
- VISITING MEMBERS' QUERIES
There were no visiting members queries.
- MATTERS ARISING
- Councillors are aware of the situation with regard to the conditions for the retention of the building at Clayton Road Nursery.
- The planning application at Chessington World of Adventures is being discussed at the Council planning meeting held at the same time as this meeting. CWA has offered to dedicate land required to build a new access junction.
- The Community Health Council has held a joint meeting in Banstead with Epsom and Sutton. Chris will investigate matters relating to the potential closure of the Accident and Emergency Service at Epsom.
- The proposed planning development at Unit 40 on the Barwell Estate, to provide facilities for meetings and conferences does not appear to cause any problems. The planning application has been permitted.
- The planning application at 2 North Parade does not appear to cause any problems.
- The planning application for a telecommunications mast at the junction of North Parade and Bridge Road has been referred to the planning inspector. As the proposed site is owned by the local authority, we will refer the matter to the Neighbourhood Committee, which is to be held on 14th July at Tolworth Girls' School.

- New planning applications:-
- 243-145 Hook Rise South - Erection of 2-storey 4-bedroom house. We will investigate
- 442 Hook Road - Erection of 2 illuminated fascia. We will investigate
- Land at the junction of Bailey Crescent and Nigel Fisher Way - Erection of two 2-storey, 3-bedroom houses.
- Unit 7, Barwell Business Park - Use as training centre for plumbers. We will investigate.
- Hook Road, opposite White Hart PH - Display of illuminated sign on relocated bus shelter.
- Chessington Golf Centre - Erection of 21.8m "imitation dead tree" telecommunications mast. We will object.
- Rushett Filling Station - Application for internally illuminated sign.
- Station shop at Tolworth Railway Station - Change of use from storage to fast food outlet.
- Junction of Hook Road and Bridge Road - Erection of telecommunications mast. We will object. We will also write to Tony Arbour as the proposed site is on land under the control of TfL.
- There are proposals to recommence the use of Tolworth depot for the handling of aggregates. This could entail the reinstigation of night trains. Such trains would continue down the line to Chessington South for turning.
- The application for the use of the Army Cadet Hut, Almshouse Lane, for manufacturing etc was refused.
- The application for the use of the former coal depot at Tolworth for storage and parking was permitted.
- The second Antisocial Behaviour Meeting will be held on 14th July at 2PM.
- The review of the Kingston Youth Service will be held on 24th June.
- The area at the end of Cheshire Gardens is in need of repair.
- Tesco's staged a display in the library in connection with a planning application to box in part of the service road in Hook Parade in the early morning and late evening in connection with deliveries. The proposal will also require alterations to the access and egress of the service road..
- Plans have been made to improve Somerset Avenue and associated roads including traffic calming and related matters. Priority is to be given to the entrance to the area from Clayton Road.
- The Road Safety Advisory Committee reported that a reduction in the rate of traffic accidents had been achieved. The use of high powered motorcycles is increasing. The theft of scooters is increasing.
- The Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership is conducting a crime audit. Volunteers are being sought to collect the views of others. We will invite the Partnership to a future meeting.
- The Borough Community Plan is to be submitted for approval on 13 July and published thereafter. It is intended to encourage participation of local people in the provision of local services. We will await the issue of the summary.
- A drugs raid was carried out in Garrison Lane.
- Heavy lorries accessing the football club are damaging Chalky Lane
- A lorry carrying waste materials has been seen entering Rushett Farm. Council enforcement officers are investigating.
