- MATTERS ARISING
- The statement regarding Surbiton Hospital is in hand.
- It appears that the hall will have vacancies on Mondays for the AGM. We will investigate public liability insurance for the meeting.
- There is no news on Rushett Farm.
- We have been asked to comment on a proposed change to the procedures to amend licenses for sales of alcohol. We prefer the status quo.
- There are no grounds for objection to the proposed rerouting of the footpath across the golf course.
- We will keep the question of the pharmacy at Merritt Gardens under review.
- There are plans for the hospital at St Helier rather than Sutton to be used for primary care. We have concerns about transport. We will monitor the activities of the health overview panel.
- The Road Safety advisory Committee was concerned about illegal right turns from Hook Road into Clayton Road leading to hazards for pedestrians crossing the Clayton Road. Only verbal complaints have been received. There is a possibility for cameras to be used.
- Roadworks are scheduled on the A243 south of the Bridge Road Roundabout for 16 weeks to renew the storm water drains.
- There is a potential danger from vehicles turning right out of Elm Road to persons waiting for buses outside the Lucky Rover.
- In response to the Surrey Traffic Plan, the Council sent a note regarding traffic at the hospital site.
- Planning decisions
- ANY OTHER BUSINESS
- Planning applications decided:-
- The scheme to improve access to car parks at CWA was permitted.
- An application at 13 North Parade to allow a garage to be used for materials storage was approved.
- New Planning Applications
- 98 Gilders Road. Change of use to dwelling.
- 2 selby Road - Erection of side extension to form home.
- 38 North Parade - Change of use from coffee shop to cafe
- The local Police are to offer Antisocial Behaviour incident diaries.
- A proposal has been made to rebuild Tolworth Girls' School to incorporate a conference centre.
- Clayton Road Nursery appears to be seeking to build an extension and to erect stables in apparent contravention of the green belt.
- The meeting on the refurbishment of Somerset Avenue discussed potential traffic calming measures including tables at all junctions and the replacement of the existing humps in Clayton Road by tables. Residents will be consulted and a meeting held on 15 February to consider comments. Roads will be widened slightly to facilitate access by emergency vehicles. Further traffic calming measures will be required to enforce a 20mph zone.
- The Neighbourhood Police are holding a meeting on 21 January at 10AM at the Kings Centre.
- Mr Patel of Just Stationers has prepared a list of a large number of incidents when he has been asked to supply tickets which he is not being allowed to stock. In addition he is having difficulties obtaining adequate supplies of the tickets which he does sell.
- Vehicles servicing illegal businesses in Chalky Lane are causing damage to the lane.
- There is continuing light pollution from the Golf Centre.
