    • In accordance with the bank's requirements, a motion will be proposed to maintain the bank account with HSBC
    • It is hoped that the Police will be able to attend

Due to the hall being required for Church activities, please note that the Committee meetings for February and March 2005 will be on Monday 7 February and Monday 7 March.

The AGM will be on Thursday 26 May at Chessington Methodist Church Hall at the junction of Bridge Road and Church Lane. Note the new venue.

  1. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
    The minutes of the last meeting were agreed. The reference to Super Neighbourhood Police in 3 xv should read Safer Neighbourhood Police.

  2. VISITING MEMBERS' QUERIES

    None

  3. MATTERS ARISING
    1. A removable bollard, designed to be removed temporarily to allow the emergency services to pass was stolen from the width restriction in Clayton Road. It will be replaced.
    2. A "State of the Borough" meeting will be held at the Guildhall on 11th January. We will raise the subject of the distribution of Livin' Kingston.
    3. The ownership of the drainage system will be the subject of a meeting to be held on 12 January at 7:30PM at the Guildhall.
    4. Mr Patel will make a renewed application to be an LRT ticket outlet.
    5. Youths are congregating at Hook Parade. The Police are monitoring the situation.
    6. Jim will raise the issue of funding for the Neighbourhood Police at the CPCG meeting. He will also raise the issue of the recent statement by the Attorney General on the rights of burglars.
    7. The planning application for flats at 268-274 Hook Road has gone to appeal.
    8. There a plans for the possible reorganisation of local authorities.
    9. The Methodist Church Hall, opposite Moor Lane School, has been booked for the AGM.
    10. A meeting of the GLA on Safer Neighbourhoods will take place at City Hall on January 14.
    11. Jim has received reports of cycling youths firing paintball guns.
    12. A new road surface and pavements will be laid in Somerset Avenue up to no. 61. Further public consultation will be held.
    13. We will pay £110 to St. Paul's Centre for the use of the room.
    14. Chris Beer has resigned as Treasurer as a result of his commitments abroad. We are grateful for his service. His replacement will be Richard Heath.
    15. Plans for the new library will be laid before Development Control Committee on 27 January.
    16. A crime audit will be held including a public survey to identify priorities.

  4. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
    1. New planning applications:-
      • Land adjacent 235-237 Moor Lane (the "Colditz site"). Erection of houses. Francis will investigate whether the proposed development is feasible in view of the slope of the land adjoining Pear Tree Close. The development will result in a loss of open space. We must ensure that the existing right of way is preserved.
      • Caravan site in Woodstock Lane - Enlarge existing site.
      • 119 Gilders Road - Change of use from shop to flat.
      • 527 Chessington Road, Epsom - Demolish existing dwelling, erect flats. Jim to investigate.
      • 22 North Parade - Convert existing 2-storey maisonette into 2 self-contained flats.
      • 151 Gilders Road - erection of detached 2 storey, 3 bedroom house. Jim will investigate.
    2. The application for parking and drainage provisions in the land adjacent Chessington Nurseries was permitted.
    3. The application for the erection of 16m telecommunications mast at Chessington Golf Club was refused.
    4. Enforcement action is been taken regarding Rushett Farm.
    5. Residents of Ashby Avenue are seeking to change the arrangements for parking.
    6. Residents of Green End are concerned about some aspects of the revised plans for the community Centre.
    7. The council has written, seeking permission to pass the details of the Residents' Association on to the BBC for inclusion on a new website created by the BBC (www.bbc.co.uk/ican), intended to assist people to find out about and take action concerning issues that concern them. As the only information held is the name and aims of the Association and its web and email addresses, we see no reason to object.
