  1. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
The minutes of the last meeting were agreed.

  2. VISITING MEMBERS' QUERIES
A local resident drew attention to council plans to develop a skate park in King George's Field, raising concerns of funding, safety and the suitability of the planned site. It appears that there have been problems with a similar Skate Park in Dickerage Lane. Jim will consult Cllr Vicki Harris and will ask a question at the next neighbourhood meeting.

  3. MATTERS ARISING
    1. A further letter has been received concerning the CCTV in North Parade. Positive experiences have been reported of the CCTV in Hook Parade.
    2. BT are reported to charge £300 to trace callers following reports of malicious phone calls.
    3. The Council's glass recycling scheme is being extended to Tolworth. There is a possibility of further extension of door to door collection. There is still no recycling facility at the BP garage in Malden Rushett.
    4. Jim will attend the CPCG meeting on Wednesday 18 February at the Guildhall.
    5. Five applications for planning permission for CWA, which are contrary to the development plan, will be decided by the Government Office for London.
    6. A Development Control Meeting will be held regarding the West Park site. A link road will be suggested. Further investigation will be made.
    7. We have objected to the development at 27 Orchard Road.
    8. The application for a 15m high telecommunications beacon in Bridge Road was refused.
    9. Jim will investigate the application to erect stables in Chessington Wood.
    10. The Gosbury Hill practice is aware of recent problems. There are presently only two doctors. It is hoped that the new practice at Meritt Gardens will ease the situation. A new clinic is seeking to take over the old children's clinic. A meeting will be held with a company which specialises in redeveloping premises for surgeries.

  4. COMMUNITY HEALTH COUNCIL
    No report.

  5. NORTH PARADE
    No report

  6. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
    1. There are reports that water from the car wash at the BP Garage in Malden Rushett is flowing onto the road.
    2. We have received a letter from Councillor Davies, leader of the Conservative Group on the Council. We will arrange a meeting with him.
    3. The committee meeting in April has been rearranged to Tuesday 6th April.
    4. Land adjacent the gypsy site near the slip road to the A3 has been sold. We will monitor the situation.
    5. A local resident has written to express concerns relating to the proposed introduction of beehives on land at the rear of houses on The Causeway and Gosbury Hill. There appear to be no planning issues which can prevent the installation of these hives.
    6. At the recent KATA meeting, it was observed that additional space will be required for the standing of buses at Kingston Hospital.
    7. A suggestion from the local Conservative Association that the disused toilets be used as a site for a new Police Station was felt to be unfeasible. A disused shop might be more preferable.
    8. The local authority Environmental Overview Panel is concerned about possible increased pollution. We will suggest the planting of trees.
    9. St. Paul's primary school has two additional classrooms.
    10. We will investigate the location of a proposed telecommunications mast on the Barwell trading estate with regard to its proximity to schools.
    11. New planning applications:-
      • Chessington Hall Gardens - proposal to fell oak tree.
      • Land adjacent the King's Centre - Proposal to fell Lombard poplar.
      • Chessington World of Adventures - Proposal for children's covered play area. We will investigate.
      • 2 Selby Road - Extension to form 2-bedroom house.
      • Accessory House, Cox Lane - Proposal for three additional telecommunications aerials. We will object on the grounds of the number of aerials at one location.
      • Land to rear of Pegasus, Green Lane - 2 storey, 3 bedroom house. We will object on the grounds of development in the green belt.
    12. Planning decided:-
      • North Parade - Change of use to estate agent - Permitted.
      • 50 Crompton Crescent - Erection of 2 storey 3 bedroom house. - Permitted
      • Coal depot, adjacent Tolworth Station - Change of use to parking of buses - Permitted.
      • Chessington World of Adventures - Removing a condition of earlier consent, thus allowing access to the site from Fairoak Lane - Permitted.
      • Outside Chessington World of Adventures - Telecommunications mast - Refused.
    13. There was a serious assault in Chessington following an earlier attempted break-in and broken windows at 101 York Way. Men brandishing clubs were later seen in the vicinity. The incidents are believed to be part of a feud.
