VISITORS

  1. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
    The minutes of the last meeting were agreed. Contrary to the indication in the minutes, it is not certain that bollards have been installed to prevent motorists avoiding the width restriction in Clayton Road. We will make enquiries.

  2. VISITING MEMBERS' QUERIES

    None

  3. MATTERS ARISING
    1. The latest issue of Livin' Kingston has been distributed with one of the free newspapers. Distribution has again been patchy.
    2. The Neighbourhood Committee has confirmed that the library will be relocated to the King's Centre for the duration of the library rebuilding project. The Next meeting will be on Wednesday 15 December at 7:30PM at Southborough Boys' School.
    3. Peter attended the Community Hall User Groups' Meeting. The new library will have twice the area of the existing facility.
    4. We have objected to the planning application submitted by Chessington World of Adventures for the 22 acre field.
    5. Following the previous refused application, a new planning application for cricket nets has been made to be installed at the opposite end of the Sir Francis Barker Recreation Ground.
    6. The Council Executive will be asked to appoint an officer to investigate ownership of the drainage system.
    7. LRT is considering a ticket outlet in Hook Parade.
    8. At the CPCG Ececutive it was noted that a best practice guide is to be published by 2005, using a database to help track offenders. Further posters will be prepared for road safety, although there will be none in foreign languages. The Neighbourhood Road Engineer will identify black spots. The Freedom of Information Act becomes effective from February 2005. Suggestions are sought to increase uptake of the Childrens' Traffic Club.
    9. There is considerable local opposition to proposals regarding Epsom Hospital. We will write to Ed Davey and also contact local councillors.
    10. Nine youths from a gang congregating in the Hook Parade area have been arrested.
    11. A pantomime at the Parish Hall was disrupted by youths.
    12. The Police welcome information concerning disruptive behaviour from youths. Prolific and persistant ffenders are identified for special attention. An outreach bus is to visit Chessington.
    13. Chessington Garden Centre is to sponsor a Police vehicle.
    14. A Safer Neighbourhoods Meeting will be held on 19 February at the Kings Centre at 10:00 AM
    15. Funding for Super Neighbourhood Police is only available for four years.

  4. COMMUNITY HEALTH COUNCIL
    No report.

  5. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
    1. New planning applications:-
      • Chessington Golf Centre - Changes to topography of driving range and holes 2-4. Extend clubhouse and erect new greenkeeper's shed.
      • Hook Community Centre and Library - Redevelopment as previously discussed.
      • 3 North Parade, Chessington - Application to permit Sunday opening.
      • Chessington Golf Centre - Erection of 16m telecommunications mast.
    2. The application for the erection of a new clubhouse on the Recreation Ground was permitted.
    3. The application for the erection of a garden wall in Lene Close was refused.
    4. The conversion of a house on Hook Road into six bedsits was refused.
    5. The application for the erection of flats at 268-274 Hook Road was refused.
    6. The application for the erection of a telecommunications mast at the junction of Leatherhead Road and Garrison Lane has gone to appeal. We will make representations.
    7. The dental practice at Bridge Road is no longer accepting NHS patients.
